Does anyone else go through this? Every time I have a conversation with any of my family members, they all ask me if I’ve worked out “today”. Then, they proceed to inform me that they have indeed worked out. It’s starting to impact my desire to communicate with them. I would rather avoid their constant reminders about how I should exercise and how they’re “looking out for me”. I’ve tried stating that I don’t really discuss my workout routine, but they persistently bring it up in every conversation.

It feels as though they’re essentially saying, “this is one of your flaws as a person and I will remind you of it every chance I get.” I’m reaching a point where I want to highlight all of their flaws in our conversations, although I don’t genuinely want to do that.

I don’t actually wish to stop talking to them, but it frustrates me each time we engage in a conversation. Has anyone else faced a similar situation? Do you have any advice or recommended articles to read?
