So, I’ve been experimenting with various diets, weight lifting and workout routines for the past 7 months, but it seems like I keep gaining weight. When I started, I weighed around 165lbs, and now I’m at 181lbs. Although my job requires me to sit most of the time, I do make an effort to get up and walk, and I often choose to take the stairs. I have tried numerous strategies such as cutting out sugar, consuming only organic and homegrown foods, having small breakfast and dinner with a medium lunch, sticking to a vegetable-only diet, focusing on meat-only meals, predominantly eating gluten-free, avoiding fried food, and controlling portion sizes. I have also sought advice from nutritionists and tried incorporating herbs and minerals into my diet. I have pretty much explored every option I could think of, usually sticking to each approach for at least a month or longer. There are three things I constantly try to avoid: greasy food, fried food, and chocolate.
At this point, I feel like I am at a standstill because none of these methods are proving to be effective. Unfortunately, the local gym I used to go to has increased their rates to a point where it is no longer financially viable for me (WellWay).
